NOTHING BEATS A GOOD CUPPA. TETLEY IS A NATIONAL FAVOURITE, AND NOW IT'S HAD A REFRESH TO BECOME A MODERN CLASSIC

Tetley is a brand that needs no introduction. And over the years has had many brand refreshes, but in todays' world where tea is a daily ritual for millions of people you need to stand out, be bold. But you also need to be more, environmentally friendly. They are part of the Rainforest Alliance developing and implementing long-term conservation and community development programs to sustain eco systems and rural communities. In 2022, Tetley biodegradable tea bags entered the market and now, all packaging is made from 80% recycled cardboard which can be recycled again - so take a look at their new look!

TETLEY

My aim for this project was to modernise a classic product where I felt, the current packaging lets it down. Tetley sits within the foundations of well-loved tea brands in the UK with PG and Yorkshire Tea being its main competitors; both of which have bold, in-your-face no-nonsense packaging.

Not wanting to diversify too far from the original branding, I chose a previous logo that I felt could handle the minimalist yet bold design I wanted to implement. I then researched other hot beverage brands including the smaller and store own label designs alongside contemporary packaging design for inspiration.

​

The outcome is a fresh, eye-catching design that stands out on the shelf. Block colours dominate and differentiate between the range of teas available.
